A REVIEW - "Straight From The Heart" by Jergen 'Tex' Labrenz Country Special Radio Berlin, Germany
"It's unbelievable......there are not only female country music singers having one eye on the pop charts and one on the country charts making crossover productions which come over from the American continent. There are also still some singers doing like "The Grand Country Ladies" did: Patsy Cline, Lynn Anderson, Tammy Wynette, Linda Ronstadt and others. Here's one example that reached our editorial office: the album "Straight From The Heart" by Ann Brown from Pennsylvania and co-produced by Tommy Overstreet. Ann Brown started singing and playing guitar at 7 years old and six years later, she formed her first band. This CD is really made 'straight from the heart', and you will truly believe that by listening to the great songs like "Who Am I Trying To Fool", "Slow Country Dancing", and "He's Killing Me With These Love Songs and I'm Dying For His Love" on Ann Brown's website. If you ask for our personal favorites, it's hard to answer. But the swinging "I'm Gonna Miss You (Every Chance I Get)" and "Hole In My Heart (Drive That Nail)" are really something special."
"So when you love pop-influenced country songs--keep your hands away from this album. If you prefer a fiddle, a steel guitar and true feelings in country music.....hurry up and get this one!"
